What "24/7" Actually Means Here
Plenty of tyre firms put a 24/7 banner on the website and route the out-of-hours phone to a recorded message that promises a callback in the morning. That's not 24/7 — that's a 9-to-5 shop with a voicemail.
Here, 24/7 means the same number, answered by the same person, around the clock. No call-centre, no rota of contractors, no "your call is important to us". You ring 07549 676 220 — Simon picks up. If it's 2am on a Tuesday, that's the same as 2pm on a Saturday. The van's loaded the same way; the price-on-the-call rule is the same.
What changes is travel time. Late at night, the M6 and M61 corridor are usually clear, so Wigan-to-Bolton is fifteen minutes door-to-driveway. Friday night around the city centres can be slower. Simon will give you the real number on the call — not the brochure number.
How an Emergency Call-Out Works
- If you're in live traffic, call 999 first. Hard shoulder, slip road, anywhere a passing lorry could hit you — Highways England and the police set the lane closure before any tyre work happens. Then ring Simon.
- Ring 07549 676 220 with the basics. Postcode or motorway junction, what's gone wrong (slow puncture / sidewall blown / unable to drive), tyre size from the sidewall if you can read it, make/model of the car.
- Quote, ETA and payment on the call. Simon will tell you whether it's a one-tyre fix or a tow, what it's likely to cost, and how long he'll be — and takes payment up front, bank transfer or cash, before he sets off.
- Stay safe while you wait. For driveways and car parks just sit tight. For roadside on a single-lane road, hazards on, exit the car and stand well behind the barrier where possible. For the hard shoulder, follow the 999 operator's instructions.
- On site, fit and balance. Same kit as a daytime job — jack, machine, balancer, TPMS reset. Most one-tyre fixes are 20–30 minutes once the van's there.
- Old tyre sorted. It goes in the van for legal disposal.
If the tyre can't be fitted at the roadside — wheel damage, no spare, sidewall too far gone — the recovery truck is on the same number. Simon makes the call on the spot.

Motorbike, HGV/lorry and agricultural tyres need specialists with the right machinery — they run their own out-of-hours cover. Ringing Simon for one of those just costs you time.
Also outside scope at the roadside: structural wheel damage (a buckled alloy that won't safely re-seal a bead), wheel-tracking faults (kerb-strike at speed often does both — the tyre's the obvious bit, but the geometry needs a workshop laser rig), and anything where Simon judges that fitting on the spot would put the car back on the road in worse shape than the recovery alternative. In those cases the recovery truck comes instead.

Are you really 24/7?
Yes — same phone number, same person picks up. Day, night, Saturday, Sunday, bank holiday. There's no out-of-hours answering service handing the job to a stranger; you ring 07549 676 220 and I answer.
What if I've blown a tyre on the motorway?
Call 999 first if you're stopped in a live lane or on the hard shoulder — the police and National Highways will set the lane closure. Then ring me. On the M6, M61 and M62 corridors that's typically 15–30 minutes from Wigan once it's safe to work, longer if traffic's stacked. If you can limp to a service station that's the safer waiting point.
Will it cost more out of hours?
There's no flat 'night surcharge'. The quote covers the tyre, the fit and the travel — and out-of-hours runs at night sometimes carry a longer travel time, which is reflected in the quote on the call before I set off. Either way, you hear the price first.
What counts as an emergency?
Stopped at the kerb with a flat. Sidewall blown on a kerb-strike. Slow puncture losing pressure faster than you can keep up. Burst tyre on the motorway. Anything where the car can't be safely driven to a depot. If in doubt, ring — I'll tell you whether it's a 'come now' job or a 'first thing tomorrow' booking.
Can you come on a Sunday or bank holiday?
Yes — the phone is on. Bank holidays and Sundays are normal trading. Easter, Christmas, New Year, the lot.
What about late at night?
Same phone, same person. Late-night callouts are part of the job. Tell me where you are and how safe the spot is — for car parks and driveways I'll just turn up; for live-traffic spots I'll talk you through whether to wait inside the car with hazards on or step away to safety.
Do I need to be a member of anything?
No. No membership scheme, no annual fee, no signup. You ring once, you pay once.
What if the tyre can't be fitted on the spot?
Recovery's on the same number. If the tyre is unrepairable, the spare can't go on, or the wheel itself is damaged beyond a roadside fit, my recovery truck comes too. One call covers both.
Can you do an out-of-hours TPMS or locking-nut job?
Yes — the van carries the same kit at 3am as it does at 3pm. Service-kit valves, programmable TPMS sensors, locking-nut extraction tooling, balancer and impact gun all live on board.
Do you do motorbike, HGV or tractor tyres — even in an emergency?
No. Cars, vans, 4x4s, caravans, motorhomes and EVs/hybrids only — for motorbike, HGV/lorry or agricultural tyres you'll need a specialist. The right people for those jobs run their own out-of-hours numbers.
