What Same-Day Tyre Fitting Covers
Same-day fitting is everything between '24/7 emergency at the kerb' and 'book it for next Tuesday'. You've spotted the problem today, you want it sorted today — at home, at work, or in a car park you can leave the car at for an hour. One van, one fitter, one slot in the day's run with your name on it.
Common same-day jobs:
- Pre-MOT tyre swaps — failed the wear check, need new rubber on by tomorrow morning.
- Slow punctures that have outlasted your patience for the foot pump in the boot.
- Tread block worn below the legal limit on the inside or outside edge — usually a tracking-related wear pattern, but the tyre still needs replacing today.
- Front-axle pair after a kerb-strike at speed has buckled an alloy or chewed the sidewall.
- Workplace fleet — a van that needs to be earning tomorrow morning.
- Caravan or motorhome tyres needed before a weekend trip, fitted on the storage compound or driveway.
How a Same-Day Booking Works
- Ring as early in the day as you can. 7am to 11am gives the most flexibility — Simon can slot you in around the existing day's run. Mid-afternoon usually still works. After 6pm tips into the emergency-tonight or tomorrow-morning conversation.
- Tell Simon what's needed. Reg, tyre size from the sidewall, how many tyres, whether it's a fit-only on rubber you've already bought, where you are and where the car will be when he arrives.
- Get a slot and a quote. Window like '2pm to 4pm at the office' rather than 'we'll text you' nonsense. Price covers tyre, fit, balance, travel.
- Pay up front. Payment's taken in advance, before the fit — bank transfer or cash. Invoice for fleet customers if needed.
- Be reachable. If Simon's running ten minutes early or late off the previous job, he'll text. Same with bay numbers, gate codes, anything access-related.
- Fit on site. 20–30 minutes per tyre, closer to an hour for a full set of four. The old tyres go in the van for legal disposal.
What you won't get: a vague window, a different fitter to the one on the phone, or an upsell at the door. Simon quotes once and the price holds.
What's NOT Covered by Same-Day Fitting
Some jobs can't be guaranteed same-day even with the best will in the world.

Motorbike, HGV/lorry and agricultural tyres need different machinery and a specialist trade.
Other situations that can push a 'same-day' fit into 'next morning':
- Unusual sizes. Some low-profile sports sizes, big 4x4 sizes, motorhome twin-axle or older caravan sizes aren't on the van by default and need a wholesaler run. Ring early — sometimes that still lands today.
- Diary's full. Mike's bank-holiday rush, school-run Mondays in September, MOT-deadline weeks. Honest answer at the time.
- Wheel-tracking faults. If the wear pattern's a tracking issue, Simon will fit the tyre and tell you straight — but the alignment itself is a workshop laser-rig job.
- Wheel damage. A buckled alloy may need refurb before re-fit; that's a separate trade.

How late can I ring and still get fitted today?
Depends on the day's run. Mornings — almost always yes. Mid-afternoon — usually yes. After 6pm — sometimes; sometimes it's a 'first thing tomorrow' slot. I'll tell you on the call which it is. The honest answer beats the promise that doesn't land.
Do you need the tyre in stock?
The van carries common 16, 17 and 18-inch car and van sizes on board. Less-common sizes — caravans, larger 4x4s, low-profile sports tyres — sometimes need a quick wholesaler run, which can extend a 'same-day' fit by an hour or two depending on the time of day. I'll say so on the call.
Can you come to my workplace?
Yes — staff car parks, depot yards, retail-park bays, customer driveways. As long as there's flat ground and room to set up the jack and the machine, the van can work there. Tell me what kind of access there is and which bay you're in.
Can you fit a full set of four in one visit?
Yes. A full set of four is roughly an hour on site, depending on the car. I bring the four out on the van, fit and balance them, take the old four for legal disposal.
I've got an MOT tomorrow — can you do tyres today?
Pre-MOT tyre swaps are bread-and-butter. Ring with your reg, the tyres going on, and where you are. If the size's on the van it's a same-day job. If it's a fleet vehicle and you need a written invoice for the books, that's no problem either.
Will you fit tyres I've already bought?
Yes — fit-only is fine. Common online sources (Black Circles, Camskill, OTR, Amazon-fulfilled brands) all work. Tell me what's arriving and when, and I'll book the slot around the delivery.
How does same-day pricing compare to a regular booking?
Same. There's no 'urgency' premium for asking for today rather than next Tuesday. The quote covers the tyre, the fit and the travel — that's the rule.
What if you're already booked up today?
I'll say so on the call rather than over-promise. Most days there's room; some days there isn't. If today is genuinely full, the next available slot is offered — and if you're stranded with a real emergency, I'll work out how to fit you in.
Do you cover fleet or company-vehicle work same-day?
Yes. Single van out for the day, multi-vehicle depot runs, individual driver callouts. Payment taken in advance per job, bank transfer accepted — I can provide a receipt for your books. Ring to set it up.
Do you do motorbike, HGV or tractor tyres?
No — cars, vans, 4x4s, caravans, motorhomes and EVs/hybrids only. For motorbike, HGV/lorry or agricultural tyres you'll need a specialist.
